Jack Perkins - Founder

John R. Perkins, known as Jack to many long time customers or papa to those who know him best, served in the U.S. Navy as a Refrigerations Mate from 1951 until 1955. He then worked for Murphy Miller Air Conditioning in Chicago from 1955 until 1959, when he was then hired by Johnson Brothers here in Phoenix as a refrigeration foreman. The J.R. Perkins Company was officially open for business on April 1, 1960 when Jack was duly licensed by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors and by the city of Scottsdale. At that time, Scottsdale Rd was only paved up to Shea Blvd and above that was only desert!

Jack is still very involved in the day to day jobs and at times taking on special projects for those long time customers who need an out of the ordinary service that would otherwise be too costly elsewhere. He enjoys keeping busy, often scraping old units from the install's, and has many stories to share of his many adventures.

Rich Larsen - Owner & Son-In-Law

Raised on Long Island, NY, Rich later moved to Phoenix when he got accepted to Arizona State University (ASU) in 1972 getting his degree in history. Entering the USMC as a 2nd LT in 1977, he became a CH53 helicopter pilot. He then left the Marines to enter the private sector in 1983 where he worked for Colt Aerospace, Motorola, and the National Guard where he once again flew helicopters. In 1988, Rich retired from the Guard as a LtCol. While working for Motorola and living in Maryland, Rich and his wife Sue, were asked to take over the family air conditioning business and did so in January of 1994. Rich is a NATE certified technician, designs ductwork, and does heat load calculations. He was the President of the Blue Energy Institute for two terms and is currently expanding The J.R. Perkins Company to be successful for another 50 yrs for the 3rd generation of family to take over when Rich decides to retire.

Rich and Sue, have 2 daughters, Jen - who is the 3rd generation family member working for JR Perkins Company in the office and Stefeny - who is married to her husband Jason and their first born daughter and living in Vienna, VA.

Sue Larsen - Accounting

Jack's daughter, Sue, works for the company alongside Rich and handles all the accounting. As the office has grown, Sue has brought on additional office co-workers to handle all aspects of the administration of our growing company. Sue listens carefully to our customers and continuously improves and implements new processes to improve the customer experience.

Scott Bossen - Operations manager

Scott has been with J.R. Perkins Company since 2001 and has been in the air conditioning business for 14 years. He has been involved in all aspects of the industry and is very knowledgable. Acting as our Operations Manager he ensures that all technicians have the right tools, training, materials, and attitude to get the job done right. Scott is an accomplished tech, and acts as a consultant for our field staff and for customers as well. Scott's numerous abilities allow our tech's to do more effective and timely work to satisfy our customers. His efforts have placed The J.R. Perkins Company at the highest level of customer satisfaction. Scott has a wife, Jen, and 2 kids, Hudson and Sofia.
